This is a really old model from MPC that is nice to have, but "just don't cut the mustard". lol At least not compared to other Y-wing kits such as the Argonauts, SMT or Sergeant At Arms models. This kit is pretty darn small and lacking in coolness (if that's a word). The detail is good for something it's size but it's just not right and it's all molded right in so it doesn't pop out at you. The real Y-wing model was detail and greeblie intense so you can see why so many people are disappointed in this kit. Construction is very simple on this kit as there are very few pieces. They don't fit perfect but with a little work they go together just fine. For painting I did not have any of my usual color available so I tried to mix a color up. Now keep in mind that I made this model many years ago so my skills were nonexistent. I sprayed the ship that ugly gray color and stuck with it. I didn't do much of anything else. I tried to apply the decals that came with the kit but they were so old that they just kind of fell apart. I decided to paint the markings on instead. I used Crocus Yellow I think. As for weathering I dry brushed the whole ship with black and dark grays and then picked out some areas for more weathering. I'm not really happy with the kit so one day I will go back and redo the whole thing. As for now, it stays. I got this kit on eBay for only about $5.
