This is the smaller snaptite version of the X-wing put out by MPC/ERTL and later AMT/ERTL. It's pretty poorly detailed and inaccurate but I have seen some people turn it into a real work of art. The parts don't fit so well and the detail is pretty lacking, but it isn't too bad. If you want a really nice X-wing of about the same size, go for Fine Molds. As with other X-wings, I have two versions here. One as Red 1 and the other as Red 2. Neither is accurate so they can be any Red 1 or 2 I guess. They were both based in Camouflage Gray and decaled with the kit decals. They were then damaged with a soldering iron to make blast marks. When I did this with my Millennium Falcon cutaway, I decided to try it on other kits but had limited success. Both kits then underwent the process of detailing and weathering. They were airbrushed, washed and dry brushed pretty heavily with various shades of dirty colors like black and dark gray as well as rusty colors. I also chipped the decals for an added effect. I built these a long time ago and I'm not proud of them so I'll stop here. I got these for about $5 at KBToys.
