Models comes the most accurate and faithful representation of the X-wing
Fighter, ever! The new "Hero" edition of the already fantastic
Incom T-65 kit is the biggest and best X-wing available. mslz22
Models took their Incom T-65 kit, formerly the Captain Cardboard X-wing,
and reworked it to fix certain flaws inherent in the original master design.
Some of the changes include an enlarged fuselage making it slightly taller,
an adjustment of the proton torpedo tubes to a more accurate position, a
larger nose and tail to fit the new fuselage, panel lines have been cleaned
up and adjusted as well as small detail panels across the ship, new details
for the engines inside the wings, new engine covers, new cannons and more.
Essentially the only unchanged parts are the cockpit tub and rear engines.
All the changes made have come about due to intense scrutiny within the
prop world and advice from experts on the X-wing studio model. The
accuracy is so good that there are different parts available depending on
which member of Red Squadron you would like to build.
In a word, the new changes are fantastic! They greatly improve the look and feel of the kit. Not that there is anything terribly wrong with the original issue kit, this one just takes accuracy to a whole new level. As with all kits from mslz22 Models, the casting is superb and crisp. Some minor cleanup is necessary, but it is all easy work that can be accomplished quickly. In a test dry-fit, the parts fit together well and cleanly. If it is anything like the original issue, it will be a breeze to assemble and make for a stunning display.
