This is probably the coolest kit of Vader I have. It is pretty much perfect. The pose is great, he's so powerful looking. Kaiyodo really captured the essence of Vader, the baddest baddie of them all. Construction was not very difficult and everything fit great, as usual for Kaiyodo. The helmet was vinyl and was pretty warped when I got it. It didn't go back to regular shape after heating so I softened it up really good and pressed it on top of the AMT/ERTL helmet that was hard plastic. This worked well. It came out a little wider than usual, but it looks good I think. For painting, I decided to use flat and gloss. No satin on this one. I had to scratchbuild the lightsaber blade on this one. I used some old kite supports and put one end in a pencil sharpener. I know, I know, but what do you want? I was like 16! Everything else went fine. I used a wooden plaque for a base and painted an Imperial logo on it. I got this kit on eBay for around $25. |
