This has definitely got to be one of the strangest kits I have. A big plastic bust of Darth Vader that has glowing eyes and rasping breath! When actually the light bulb blew out as soon as I turned it on and the "rasping breath" is hard bristles that rub against a plastic disc. It's a product of the 70s, what do you want? Heh, heh. Anyway, construction was really simple. There was a pretty big seam along the shoulders and right down the middle of the helmet. These were easily fixed. A lot of the pieces were really warped because it was so old, so some coaxing was needed to fit them. It was kind of fun to play with the helmet. If you stuck it on a little kid's head, you'd have a mini-Vader! The mechanics and electronics were difficult because they too were really old. Some day, I'll replace them with new ones. I don't know why, but the bulb blew out instantly. It got super bright and POP! Maybe when this kit was made, batteries were really weak compared to today's. Painting on this kit was simple enough; flat black and gloss black with a twist--eh I mean touch of silver. I got this kit for around $10 off eBay. |
