This is the second release from the incredible Fine Molds (or Finemolds as some say) out of Japan. Their X-wing kit was so incredible that this one was destined to be a hit whether it was great or not. Well, it turned out to be just as good, if not better, than the X-wing! The detail is just superb and immensely accurate. It also includes a great display stand and two in scale Stormtroopers that would look great guarding the TIE! Assembly was great. No major problems to speak of. The parts fit just right, no seams no flash, no nuthin! Painting was made extra easy by Fine Molds coming up with the great idea of making the solar panels a separate piece! No more tedious masking!!! Just spray the panels black. Take the frames, spray them gray and pop them on over the panels! It was that simple. The color I used was Camo Gray from Model Master. I weathered it with a dark gray/black wash to bring out the crisp details. The decals they provided are very nice and represent markings we've never even been able to see before. This kit is a fitting piece to the already famous Fine Molds line. I got this kit from Hobbylink Japan for around $20.
