| Another TIE variant from SMT.
This is the smallest one that they make and is easily one of the sleekest.
This is based on a automaton TIE from the Dark Empire comics. It goes quite
well with the TIE Crawler from the same series. With just a handful of parts,
this kit can be built in just a few hours. Painting was my usual blue color
with black panels. Since this is a droid fighter, it does not have the usual
cockpit. In the comics is always appeared as a glossy black window/sensor
screen. Since the piece was solid cast, I had no choice. I painted the trim
my usual gray and filled in the "glass" with Gloss Black. Very intimidating!!
This is a really neat kit that I would love to have swarms of. For only
$30, you'd have to be crazy not to own one! Unfortunately this kit is no
longer available as SMT has ceased production of all Star Wars related kits.
All hope is not lost, however. The kit is available now as a conversion
