This is the second Star Wars kit I ever got. I got it on a trip to Salem, Massachusetts. This is the first kit I ever used spray paint on. Truly a new experience for me after hand painting. It's pretty hard to remember much about this kit. Construction was pretty simple. Some of the main body pieces were a little warped so be careful yours aren't. I would suggest replacing the guns with something a little better like some plastic or brass tubing. As you can see, the stock ones are pretty sad. This kit also comes with a little interior with pilots and Vader. If I remember correctly Vader didn't really fit very well and he kind of leans backwards. I have seen a lot of people that just spray the window black and avoid the whole interior altogether. You can do this to make it look like the studio models, but I think it kind of detracts from the kit. Whenever someone sees a model, they always go straight to the people. They always peer into the cockpit to see what it looks like inside so I say go for it. Also there are some pretty nasty seams on the sides of the fuselage that will need to be filled. As you can see, I did almost nothing. Don't do the same I did. Fix 'em, they look gross. The wings are also posable. I like to keep them open in flying position, but it takes up a LOT of room. If you're tight on space you can keep them up and it still looks awesome. For painting I sprayed the whole fuselage flat white and then painted black inside the wings. For a little weathering I did a black wash to bring out some detail and a year later or so I airbrushed a little black to add some more. I've seen that the company Lightsheet sells a kit to light the engines on this kit. It makes a nice blue glow to add some great realism. This kit is a really great kit of a really neat subject. It's pretty accurate too. For it's size it's a good buy. I got it for around $10 at a gift shop.
