This is a really, really heavy resin kit that looks awesome. It is relatively similar in height to the AMT/ERTL version, but looks very different. He almost looks like he is posing like Yoda in Episode II beckoning Dooku on. There were less pieces in this kit than the AMT/ERTL so assembly was a bit easier. I painted this one much different than the AMT/ERTL one. I started by basing this kit in a dark brown and working up lighter from there. This is opposed to the AMT/ERTL kit which I started light and worked darker. I used basically the same colors and techniques in both kits, just in opposite order. For the drool on this kit I didn't have a convenient drip of glue to strike my inspiration. Instead, I used a hot glue gun. I always noticed those stringy little spider webs that end up stretched everywhere when using a hot glue gun. I thought these would be perfect for the stringy spit the Rancor seems to have trouble swallowing. This kit also included a neat base with it. It is supposed to be the pit in which he lives. I painted it sandy and rocky. Unfortunately it got washed out in the pics. There is also a skull in there somewhere. I got this kit on eBay for around $40.
