This kit is almost identical to the Kaiyodo version. Basically the only differences are in material and some small details here and there. R2 is pretty well documented so I don't imagine it is too hard to find pictures to use as references. R2 painting is very simple, just white, blue, silver and sometimes some bronze, red and black for details. You have to be careful to be neat though. This kit was originally neat but it looked exactly like the Kaiyodo one. So for some variety I decided to dirty him up. The MPC 3PO was dirty so this was an easy decision to make. I had just gotten a new acrylic nozzle for my airbrush so I decided to test it on this guy. I used a lot of shades of sand, tan, and browns. One time a little splatter hit the body so I just smeared it and it worked out nicely. I sprayed a lot near the feet to enhance the effect. When I was working on it, I popped a panel into the body and could not fix it from the outside. I had to disassemble the whole thing and redo it. I guess it needed it if it broke. It was pretty old. I got this kit off eBay for around $15.
