This is quite possibly one of my most favorite kits. At least it used to be when I had fewer to choose from. Just everything about this kit screams coolness. The sculpting on this kit is out of this world. It is quite possibly perfect, what else can be expected from the Japanese. I swear, they can do no wrong. I painted this kit in my standard Boba Fett colors of greens and greys. I don't really like his rainbow jet pack seen in A New Hope SE (I think). I prefer the green jet pack from Jedi (I think). He looks more menacing with a matching jet pack This was the first Boba Fett kit that I discovered my spray and scratch technique to make the chipped metal look. In case you haven't read about it yet, what I do is pre-spray the pieces to be chipped in a hard silver enamel. Then I paint over that in a soft acrylic of whatever the outer color will be. Then, when it is dry, I scratch the soft outer layer off with an X-ACTO leaving the hard under surface shining through. I liked how this kit came out so much, that I decided to make a nice base for it. I wanted a "grassy field" kind of look. It kind of makes Fett look like a feline predator stalking his prey in the tall grass. I started by making a small terrain out of layered cardboard on a wooden plaque. Then I covered it in glue and sprinkled dirt all over it. Then I took railroad field grass and glued it all around and plopped Fett in the middle of it. The kit cost me around $25 off of eBay. The total cost for the base was probably around $5 or $6.
